Accepted solution by Lars S. — long GOP codecs like H.264/H.265 are hard to decode, especially 10 bit 4:2:2. proxies or optimized media turn them into edit friendly…
  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts curious how others handle this: when do you use proixes, and when do you edit native?? im working with 10-bit phone footage on a gaming PC and want a reliable workflow without wasting hours. I want smth reliable that I can use for every project, not just a quick hack. what does your workflow look like from import to export?? curious to see how differently everyone handles this.

long-GOP codecs like H.264/H.265 are hard to decode, especially 10-bit 4:2:2. proxies or optimized media turn them into edit-friendly files, which often matters more than raw hardware power. fingers crossed 🤞
