so annoyed rn i edit 6K RAW on a gaming PC 馃槫 Playback is choppy, and everyone tells me to use proxies. But it adds steps and disk usage. Is it really worth it, or should I just upgrade my hardware? I'd love to hear how others organize this: storage, settings and whether the time spent generating files actually pays off over a whole project. Thanks in advance for sharing ur setups and tips.
Editing 6K RAW On A Gaming PC: What Workflow Keeps You Sane?
sorry forgot to say my GPU supports some H.265 decoding, but maybe not 4:2:2.
yeahhh check if your GPU supports hardware decoding for ur exact codec profile. if it does, native editing may work fine. if not, proxies help hugely. fingers crossed 馃
@aortiz_15 Turns out my GPU doesn't decode 4:2:2. Proxies it is, and it's night and day.
