  1. help!! my team keeps asking why Im not talking in an MMO raid. The problem: nobody can hear me 🤷 My laptop speakers and mic works perfectly in Discord and in Windows sound settings. I also noticed this in Device Manager:

ive toggled every voice setting in the game. what else could it be?

i already checked the in-game voice volume, teh push-to-talk keybind and the mute settings. Everything looks right. It just doesnt work, and my team is getting annoyed. seriously need help here 😭

  2. Is microphone access allowed for desktop apps in Windows privacy settings? ??

  3. Under teh recording devices Properties > Advanced, uncheck Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device. Another app like Discord may be grabbing the mic exclusively.

  4. Accepted solution

in teh Communications tab of mmsys.cpl, set 'When Windows detects communications activity' to Do nothing. otherwise Windows may duck or mute audio when voice chat starts. worked for me anyway 🤷
