lol same thing happened to me many games use teh Windows default communication device rather than teh default device. open mmsys.cpl, go to the Recording and Playback tabs, right-click your headset and set it as both Default Device and Default Communication Device. fingers crossed 馃

  1. hmmmm ok my team keeps asking why Im not talking in an MMO raid. The problem: I cant hear anynoe. My wireless headset works perfectly in Discord and in Windows sound settings. I also noticed this in Device Manager:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    ive toggled every voice setting in the game. what else could it be?

    I already checked the in-game voice volume, the push-to-talk keybind and teh mute settings.. xD everything looks right, it just doesnt work, and my team is getting annoyed. any ideas??

  3. for the drvier error, reinstall the audio driver: uninstall the device in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows reinstall it, or install the motherboard/headset makers drievr package.

  4. Under the recording devices Properties > Advanced, uncheck Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device. Another app like Discord may be grabbing teh mic exclusively.

  6. @chen.pereira The Windows update had turned off desktop app microphone access. Switched it on and everything works. cant believe it was that simple lol
