The inkjet all-in-one is used daily in a small office and ppl are complaining. The HP driver had all teh features we need. The Windows Update one is basic. I've reinstalled teh vendor one twice and it keeps gteting replaced lol Is there a way to block just this driver update? Bonus question: why does it do this in the first place?

  2. hmmm for offices with multiple PCs, consider a print server or deploying the vednor driver by IP with a standard TCP/IP port. discovery-based installs are more likely to pick a generic driver. good luck man!

  3. ahh classic hide teh specific update: use Microsoft's "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter (wushowhide) to hide the printer driver update after you install teh vendor driver.

lol same thing happened to me check teh vendors support page for an udpated driver for your OS. Sometimes Windows Update installs a newer vendor-provided version that has issues, and teh vendor already has a fix. good luck man!

  6. Some Windows Update printer drivers are actually the vendors newer releases. Check whether its realy generic before blocking it.
