Hide the specific update: use Microsofts "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter (wushowhide) to hide the printer driver update after u install the vendor driver.

  1. guys pls help my label printer worked perfectly with the Canon PIXMA MP130 All-in-One Driver 12.13.1 driver i installed from their site. then Windows Update did its thing overnight, and now the paper trays are wrong. when i checked the printer properties, the driver name is different. i tried reinstalling the vendor package, and this happened:

    Windows Update

    Windows Update
    We couldn't complete the updates.
Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer.

    Error code: 0x800f0922

After a reboot Windows put its own version back. i feel like Im fighting the operating sysetm for control of my printer. How do i make the right driver stay??

  6. Some Windows Update printer drivers are actually the vendor's newer releases. Check whether it's really generic before blocking it.
