Clear CMOS (jumper or removing the coin battery for a few minutes with power disconnected). A failed update sometimes leaves settings that prevent POST, not a corrupted BIOS. hope that helps :)

  1. i ran the ECS J10IL Bios 08/11/19 BIOS/firmware update on my desktop cuz teh support page said it improves stability. Partway through, teh power flickered 馃檹 Now when i press the power button, i get this:

Reboot and Select proper Boot device

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key

No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

the fans spin, a light comes on, but nothing appears on screen, no logo, no beeps... im terrified Ive bricked it... i havent tried anything yet because i dont want to make it worse.. 馃檹 what do i do now?

    thinking

  2. oh ive been there lol if its under warranty, contact support before opening anything. A failed official update is usually covered, and some recovery steps need tools u dont have. lmk how it goes

  7. @leag687 Ended up sending it to warranty support. They replaced the board, no charge. Lesson learned: wait longer next time.
