  1. ok weird one panic mode. the client's .io domain is our main sales channel and since renewing it a day late nobody can reach it.

Check if there is a typo in my-shop-site.example.
If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics.

On my phone on Wi-Fi it shows NXDOMAIN, on my phone using mobile data it sometimes loads. I flushed DNS on my computer, nothing changed. I don't even know which part of the chain is wrong: registrar, DNS provider or the host :) Can someone walk me through how to check this properly? Every hour this stays down costs us real money, sooo any help is gold.

  3. oh ive been there lol start from the top of the chain: dig +trace example.com follows the delegation from teh root servers down. If it stops at teh TLD servers with no NS records, the registrar doesn't have your nameservers set. If it reaches ur nameservers but they return NXDOMAIN, the zone itself is missing or the record isn't there. lmk how it goes

  4. Check the registry status with a WHOIS lookup. Statuses like clientHold or serverHold mean the domain is removed from DNS, commonly after a late renewal or an unverified registrant email address. look for a verification email from the registrar and complete it; the hold usually lifts shortly after.
