The Network Reset That Fixed It... Or Will It??

  1. wi-Fi problem only on one device:

    Network & internet

    Network & internet
    Wi-Fi • HomeNet_5G
    No internet, secured

Connected, but nothing loads. Troubleshoot problems?

The 2-in-1 tablet sees the network, connects, gets bars, and then nothing loads. Everything else in the house works. It started right after waking from sleep. I'd love to understand what's broken, not just fix it. I'd rather not reinstall Windows over a network problem, sooo I'm hoping there's a logical way to track it down step by step.

  2. Check whether you got a valid IP address:

    ipconfig /all

if the IPv4 address starts with 169.254, the desktop with a Wi-Fi card didn't get an address from the router; that's a driver or DHCP issue, not DNS.

  6. id try the vendor driver before a full network reset... the reset wipes VPN adapters and saved networks, which is annoying for a work laptop.
