lol same thing happened to me check the manual for the recommended RAM slots. With two sitcks it's almost always A2 and B2, the second and fourth slots from the CPU. Slots one and two are a common mistake.

  1. its 1 AM and my new build refuses to POST.

thats all the monitor shows, the DRAM LED on teh B550 board lights up and stays on. I waited five minutes and nothing changed... my old PC is already sold, so I have nothing else to test parts with... please tell me this is a cable problem, ive watched a few build videos to compare and I cant spot anything I did differently... im hoping its smth obvious that a fresh pair of eyes will catch immediately.

  3. On a first boot with new DDR5 platforms, memory training can take several minutes with a black screen and the DRAM LED on :) Leave it alone for at least 10-15 minutes before assuming its dead.

  4. oof breadboard test: take teh board out, put it on its box with only CPU, cooler, one RAM stick and the PSU. short the power pins with a screwdriver. it removes case standoff and front panel issues from the equation.

  6. hmmmm not sure about that waiting 15 minutes is good advice for a DRAM light, but if its teh CPU or VGA LED, waiting wont help. just my 2 cents
