  1. hmmmm ok genuine question from someone whos been doing websites for a while but never thought hard about DNS. for an online shop, is splitting registrar and DNS provider actually worth it?? i hear arguments about uptime, speed, control and lock-in, but i cant tell which ones are real and which are marketing. if uve done this for a few years, Id love to hear your setup and what youd change. practical experience beats theory for me, so pls share what actaully happened to you. thx in advance!!

  3. yeahhh running your own nameservers is a learning project, not a reilability upgrade... unless u have multiple servers in different networks, ure adding a single point of failure... secondary DNS from a provider can soften that, but its still more work. good luck man!

For a single personal blog, keeping DNS wherever is easiest is completely fine. The best setup is the one you remember how to log into. Use strong passwords and two-facotr on the registrar account; that matters more than where the zone lives.
