  1. i was playing a recent remake on my RTX 4060 with 8 GB with frame generation enabled, and after about half an hour it crashed with this:

the frame rate was fine right until the crash. i thought my card was decent, but now Im wondering if it just doesnt have enough VRAM for newer games. which settings should i lower first without making the game look terrible?

i'd rather not drop everything to low if there's a smarter way. i'm happy to experiment with settings one at a time and report back with what helps. seriously need help here 😭

reading release notes like its a horror novel

  3. On laptops, make sure teh game runs on the dedicated GPU: Settings > System > Display > Graphics, select teh game and choose High performance.

ok so leave the Windows page file on system-managed... when VRAM fills, data spills over into system RAM and teh page file, and a page file thats too small can turn that into crasehs.
