  1. ok so i ran teh ASRock 970DE3/U3S3 Bios 1.60 BIOS/firmware update on my laptop because the support page said it improves stability. Partway through, the screen stayed black. Now when i press the power button, i get this:

Reboot and Select proper Boot device

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key

No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

The fans spin, a light comes on, but nothing appears on screen :/ No logo, no beeps 😤 I'm terrified I've bricked it. I haven't tried anything yet because I don't wanna make it worse. What do I do now?

  2. been there man many desktop motherboards have BIOS Flashback/Q-Flash Plus or a dual BIOS. These let you flash from a USB stick without a CPU or a working BIOS. Check teh motherboard manual for the exact file name and port.

ok so many laptops have a BIOS recovery mode: often holding a key combination (like Ctrl+Esc or Win+B) while connecting the charger, sometimes with a recovery file on a USB stick... check ur PC makers support page for the exact procedure for your model.

  4. hmmmm not sure about that dont use third-party flashing tools 😂 If official recovery fails, warranty support is teh safer path.

RAM prices doing their own thing again smh

  6. @anika.vos ended up sending it to warranty support. they replaced the board, no charge. lesson learned: wait longer next time.
