  1. my receipt pritner worked perfectly until moving the PC to a new desk. now:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    Ive downloaded teh BenQ Acer ScanWit 2740S Scanner ISA Driver package from Acer lol Before I install it a third time, Id like to understand why Windows keeps saying teh driver is unavailable. Is it a driver store thing, a permissions thing, or just a corrupted install? 🙏 Im fine using the command line if needed, just tell me what to look for so I dont delete teh wrong thing. seriously need help here 😭

  3. lol same thing happened to me run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth if every driver install shows unavailable... damaged print components can do this.

  4. yeahhh try the built-in route: Add device > Add manually > Add a local printer and select the pritner model from the list after clicking Windows Update to refresh it... windows sometimes has a working class driver.

  5. Check the driver store: pnputil /enum-drivers lists printer driver packages (class Printer). remove stale ones with pnputil /delete-driver oemXX.inf /uninstall /force.

  6. yeahhh after a major Windows upgrade, older printer drivers may be blocked as incompatible. Download the newest package for your OS from the printer makers support page, not an old CD or cacehd installer. worked for me anyway 🤷

  7. if reomval says the driver is in use, resatrt the spooler first (net stop spooler / net start spooler) and try again immediately, or remove teh printer queue first.

    it works on my machine™

  9. ok so remvoe the printer, then remove the driver package too: Printers & scanners > Print server properties > Drivers tab, select the driver, Remove > Remove driver and driver pcakage... then reboot and install fresh.

    at this point my GPU cost more than my car lol
