ok weird one our office multifunction supports driverless printing, and Windows can add it without any vendor software. but Canon also offers i900D Printer Driver 1.73d. for a family with laptops and phones, is there any reason to install the vendor driver?? im hoping driverless means fewer problems after Windows updates, but i dont want to lose important features. curious about ur experiences. real experiences from ppl who tried it would help a lot.
WHAT DO YOU LOSE WITH DRIVERLESS PRINTING ON A OFFICE MULTIFUNCTION?
yeah so the vendor driver broke once after a Windows update.
@vera_stack did u ever fix it?. honestly just reset the firmware and save yourself the pain
ahh classic advanced features like booklet printing, special finishing, secure print or accounting codes often need teh vendor driver. Check what a Docker setup actually uses.
@mutextinker omg finally moved a family with laptops and phones to driverless printing. Fewer problems, and nobody msises teh vendor software. cant believe it was that simple lol
