    ugh. after upgrading to a new Windows version, my laser printer shows "Driver is unavailable" under Printers & scanners. Printing obviously doesnt work. The printer itself is fine, and my laptop prints to it with no issues. Heres what Windows shows:

    i reinstalled HP OfficeJet G85 Series All In One , the installer said success, and teh status is still "Driver is unavailable"... im not sure what else to try. is there some leftover that blocks teh new driver from loading? seriously need help here 😭

    hmmm run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth if every driver install shows unavailable. Damaged print components can do this.

    ok weird one spent 3 hours on officejet and im still not done. pro tip: write down what u change. i didnt and had to redo reinstall from scratch seriously need help here 😭

    Remove the printer, then remove teh dirver package too: Printers & scanners > Print server properties > Drivers tab, select teh driver, Remove > Remove driver and drvier package 😂 Then reboot and install fresh.

    oof have u checked your series settings? mine were reset after an update lmk how it goes

    at this point my GPU cost more than my car lol

    ok so check teh driver store: pnputil /enum-drivers lists printer driver pcakages (class Printer). remove stale ones with pnputil /delete-driver oemXX.inf /uninstall /force.

    @polarbench holy cow removed all three old packages with pnputil, rebooted, installed OfficeJet G85 Series All In One fresh. The laser printer prints again!
