  1. firmware update nightmare.

Reboot and Select proper Boot device

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key

No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

i was updating teh desktop's BIOS using teh X58 Deluxe Bios 1.50 for DOS package from ASRock. Then teh fans went to full speed. Since then, black screen. i'm reasonably technical but i've never had to recover a BIOS. Is this repairable at home?? The keyboard lights flash briefly when i press power, then nothing. i have another computer available to download files and prepare a USB stick if a recovery procedure needs it lol i just don't want to make things worse by guessing. seriously need help here 😭

  2. lol same thing happened to me many laptops have a BIOS recovery mode: often holding a key combination (like Ctrl+Esc or Win+B) while connecting the charger, sometimes with a recovery file on a USB stick 🤷 check your PC mkaers support page for the exact procedure for your model. lmk how it goes

  3. oh ive been there lol clear CMOS (jumper or removing the coin battery for a few minutes with power disconnected). A failed update sometimes leaves settings that prevent POST, not a corrupted BIOS. lmk how it goes
