  1. so annoyed rn since installing ASRock ALiveXFire-eSATA2 Bios 2.70 for DOS , teh USB ports on my home-built PC randomly stop wroking... a webcam disconnects, the Windows disconnect sound plays, and then nothing in that port works until I reboot.. 馃檹 sometimes I get this:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    Its not one port either, it moves around. Ive tried different cbales and devices. Before the update, I never had USB problems. Is it possible a chipset driver broke USB, or is my motherboard giving up?

  5. disable USB power saving as a test: Power Options > Change plan settings > Advanced > USB settings > USB selective suspend setting > Disabled. then in Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers, for each USB Root Hub, untick Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

  6. oof check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System around the disconnect time for events from USBHUB3, USBXHCI or Kernel-PnP. Errors there point to the controller dirver or power issues.

  7. hmmm if everything fails and ports die even in a fresh Windows install or in a Linux live USB, the problem is hardware (motherboard or power), not drivers. lmk how it goes

  8. @voxelbench-f1 dude it was power. A powered hub for a webcam fixed it completely 馃槄 The driver update was just coincidence. cant believe it was that simple lol
