  1. i keep seeing Unknown device on fresh installs and i never know which driver it needs. This time its on my work PC. Can someone explain how to identify it using hardware IDs and where to get the right driver safely?? Ideally Id like a method i can reuse next time instead of asking every time. Thanks! A quick explanation goes a long way.

  3. Open Device Manager > device > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids. The VEN_xxxx&DEV_xxxx part identifies the vendor and device. Searching that ID (or checking the INF files in a driver package) tells you which package covers it.
