  1. guys pls help i play MMOs on a 5 GHz connection and get occasional ping spikes. ASUS released P7P55 WS Supercomputer Reatlek RIS Driver 6.223.525.2009 and Im wondering if updating could help, or if its more likely my router, ISP, or the game servers. has anyone noticed a real difference after network driver updates, good or bad? id prefer evidence over vibes, if anyone has measured it, numbers welcome, anecdotes too.

  2. Update the driver if the release notes mention fixes relevant to you, or if youre on a very old version. Keep the previous one handy in case it gets worse.

  3. wait what everyone keeps saying this but nobody posts proof... try turning off the power plan first, fixed it for me idk maybe im wrong lol

  6. lol same thing happened to me for a big open-world game, the biggest latency factors are usually Wi-Fi interference, router bufferbloat and the route to the server. drivers matter less, unless a specific version has a bug... test with a wired connection first if u can.

  8. oof to measure, run ping -t to ur router and to an outside address at the same time while playing. If teh router ping spikes too, teh issue is local (Wi-Fi/driver/interference). If only teh outside ping spikes, it's further out.

  9. make a backup before u touch teh extension, learned that teh hard way

  10. been there man power saving on teh adapter can cause periodic spikes, in Device Manager > adapter > Properties > Power Management, untick Allow teh computer to turn off this device, and check the Advanced tab for power saving modes.

  12. hmmm interrupt moderation tweaks can lower latency slightly but increase CPU usage... the difference is usually small. id only test it if youve ruled out bigger issues.
