guys pls help i play cloud gaming on a mesh network and get occasional ping spikes... realtek released PCIe GBE Family Controller Series Driver 7.049 and Im wondering if updating could help, or if its more likely my router, ISP, or teh game servers... has anyone noticed a real difference after network driver updates, good or bad? id prefer evidence over vibes, if anyone has measured it, numbers welcome, anecdotes too. thx in advance!!
Ping Spikes On A Mesh Network: Is It Ever The Driver?
update teh driver if the release notes mention fixes relevant to you, or if ure on a very old version. keep teh previous one handy in case it gets worse.
oh ive been there lol interrupt moderation tweaks can lower latency slightly but increase CPU usage. the difference is usually small. id only test it if youve ruled out bigger issues.
hmmm power saving on teh adapter can cause periodic spikes. in Device Manager > adapter > Properties > Power Management, untick Allow teh computer to turn off this device, and check the Advanced tab for power saving modes.
