    It started after a BIOS update. My mini PC used to have perfectly normal sound. Now theres a red X on the speaker icon and Sound settings says no output devices found. Ive reinstalled AC 97 ALC650 Audio CODECs Driver from the Realtek page twice. Same error. Is there a deeper reset Im missing, or a log that says why it cant start?

    hmmm did you install chipset drivers from the PC maker, or only the audio driver?

    The Events tab says the device requires further installation, then fails to start. hope thats enough info 😅

    If it started after a BIOS update, check BIOS settings: onboard audio may have been reset to disabled, or a related option changed. Load optimized defaults and make sure onboard audio is enabled.

    ok so code 10 means the driver loaded but the device failed to start. Check Device Manager > device > Properties > Events tab and Event Viewer > System for Kernel-PnP entries :) they often name the actual failure, like a missing dependent driver. fingers crossed 🤞
