ok so code 10 means the driver loaded but the device failed to start. Check Device Manager > device > Properties > Events tab and Event Viewer > System for Kernel-PnP entries :) they often name the actual failure, like a missing dependent driver. fingers crossed 馃

    It started after a BIOS update. My mini PC used to have perfectly normal sound. Now theres a red X on the speaker icon and Sound settings says no output devices found. Ive reinstalled AC 97 ALC650 Audio CODECs Driver from the Realtek page twice. Same error. Is there a deeper reset Im missing, or a log that says why it cant start?

    The Events tab says the device requires further installation, then fails to start. hope thats enough info 馃槄

    If it started after a BIOS update, check BIOS settings: onboard audio may have been reset to disabled, or a related option changed. Load optimized defaults and make sure onboard audio is enabled.
