lol same thing happened to me some SSD makers offer their own NVMe driver. In most cases teh inbox driver performs comparably; only switch if you have a specific issue or feature need. good luck man!

for dual booting Linux, AHCI/non-VMD mode is often simpler, though newer kernels support VMD in many cases. fingers crossed 🤞

hmm idk i've seen vendor drivers give slightly better results in some benchmarks, but the difference is rarely noticeable in daily use.
