  1. so annoyed rn please tell me this is a driver thing. glitches in teh browser on my gaming laptop, starting right after the Detonator FX Drivers 44.03 (Windows 2000/XP) update:

    gpu artifacts

the card isnt new but its never shown anything like this before. temperatures look normal. ive tried a different cable and the artifacts are teh same. id like to know what to test before I convince myself its dead. I also do some photo work on teh gaming laptop, so I really need to know whether I can trust what I see on screen right now.

  4. lol same thing happened to me reset any overclock or undervolt, especially memory clock. artifacts that look like small colored blocks are often VRAM instability, and a driver update can change memory behavior enough to tip a marginal OC over. lmk how it goes

  5. oh ive been there lol do a proper clean install of the previous driver: download it from the NVIDIA support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves the porblematic profiles in place.

  6. check that the PCIe power connectors are fully seated and not melted or discolored 🤦 power issues can produce artifacts under load.

  7. your BIOS observation is a good clue. if artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses teh Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software. if they show up in BIOS too, think hardware.

  9. id test in a second PC if you can :D its teh only test that really separates the card from everything else.
