  1. hmmmm ok i installed teh NVIDIA RTX Spark Developer Preview 616.00 update last night and this morning my home-built PC looked like this in teh browser:

    gpu artifacts

Little coloerd blocks, flickering lines, sometimes a whole strip of the screen goes green for a moment 😤 It doesnt crash, it just looks horrible. My stomach dropped cuz artifacts usually mean dying hardware, right? But its suspicious that it started exactly after the update. How do i tell which one it is without spending money?

  2. Do they appear in screenshots, or only on the monitor?

  3. yeah so took a screenshot and the artifacts are visible in it too, so its not the cable. sorry for the wall of text lol

  4. ahh classic your BIOS observation is a good clue... if artifacts appear only after Windows loads the drvier, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software. if they show up in BIOS too, think hardware.

  5. Check that the PCIe power connectors are fully seated and not melted or discolored. Power issues can produce artifacts under load.

  6. Accepted solution

ok so do a proper clean install of the previous drievr: download it from the NVIDIA support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves the problematic profiles in place.

  8. wait what i'd test in a second PC if u can. It's the only test that realy separates teh card from everything else. just my 2 cents

  9. @binary_sprite wowww ok removed the memory overclock and the artifacts in the browser disappeared even on RTX Spark Developer Preview 616.00. the update just exposed an OC that was never stable.
