ahh classic test with a second display output or a different port. if artifacts move with the screen content in screenshots, its rendering (GPU) :/ if they dont appear in a screenshot but do on the monitor, the cable, port or monitor itself is involved. lmk how it goes

  1. ok so so this is new. artifacts in games, and only since updating GeForce Graphics Driver 304.48 Beta from NVIDIA.

    gpu artifacts

ive already rebooted three times... they dont show up on the BIOS screen as far as i can tell, only once Windows loads... is that a meannigful clue? im happy to run tests, i just need to know which ones make sense, i have not overclocked anything on purpose, but i did install a tuning tool a while back, i wanna rule out the cheap explanations before i start pricing replacement cards.

  2. ok so check that the PCIe power conncetors are fully seated and not melted or discolored... power issues can produce artifacts under load. good luck man!

  4. ok so your BIOS observation is a good clue, if artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software. if they show up in BIOS too, think hardware. fingers crossed 🤞

  6. wait what safe Mode being clean doesnt fully clear the hardware. Safe Mode barely loads the GPU, so a weak card can look fine there. just my 2 cents

  7. @joon_proxy sadly it was hardware. artifacts showed in BIOS after a few days. warranty claim is in. thanks for helping me figure it out fast.
