    ok weird one my iknjet all-in-one now uses a driver I didnt install.

    the update came through Windows Update :) since then, it prints at teh wrong size. id like to go back to Stylus CX3200 Driver from Epson and make sure it stays. whats the proper way to do that without blocking all updates?? ive already wasted a morning on this and Id rather not repeat it every month after Patch Tuesday :) A permanent fix would be fantastic, even if it takes a few steps.

    hide teh specific update: use Microsofts "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter (wushowhide) to hide the printer driver update after you install the vendor driver.

    Check which driver teh queue uses: Printer properties > Advanced tab shows the driver name. You can switch it there to teh vendor driver once its installed, without removing teh printer. good luck man!

    On Pro editions, Group Policy can exclude drivers from Windows Update: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivres with Windows Updates. On Home, use Device Installation Settings > No. hope that helps :)

    wait what some Windows Update printer drivers are acutally the vendors newer releases. Check whether its really generic before blocking it. but hey ymmv

    @elif_uplink group Policy to exclude drivers did it... the inkjet all-in-one keeps the Epson driver now. owe u a beer 🍺
