  1. Please tell me this is a driver thing. Glitches in video playback on my gaming laptop, starting right after the GeForce Ion Graphics Driver update:

    gpu artifacts

The card isnt new but its never shown anything like this before. Temperatures look normal. Ive tried a different cable and the artifacts are teh same. Id like to know what to test before i convince myself its dead. i also do some photo work on the gaming laptop, so i really need to know whether i can trust what i see on screen right now. seriously need help here 😭

  2. lol same thing happened to me your BIOS observation is a good clue. if artifacts appear only after Windows loads teh driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software 😅 if they show up in BIOS too, think hardware.

  4. Do a proper clean install of the previous driver: download it from the NVIDIA support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves the problematic profiles in place. good luck man!

  5. Accepted solution

oh ive been there lol test with a second display output or a different port. If artifacts move with teh screen content in screenshots, its rendering (GPU). If they dont appear in a screenshot but do on teh monitor, the cable, port or monitor itself is involved. lmk how it goes

  7. i'd test in a second PC if u can. it's the only test that really separates the card from everything else.

rgb adds +10 fps everyone knows that

    lol

  8. @dev_cron omg finally DDU plus the previous NVIDIA driver and the artifacts are completely gone. So relieved i didn't buy a new card in a panic.
