  1. ok weird one im part of a small clan that plays a competitive shooter. weve decided to accept newer players instead of only recruiting experienced ones, partly because the pool of veterans is shrinking.

The problem: when new people join our matches, teh experineced folks get frustrated and the new folks feel blamed 馃う A few have quit after a week.

how do other groups handle onboarding? i'd like the new players to stick around without the veterans feeling like they're babysitting.

  2. Give newer players a clear, narrow role at first. "Hold this angle and call what you see" is learnable. "Play like a pro" is not lol Expanding responsibilities as they improve gives them visible progress and keeps veterans from expecting too much too soon.

  3. ahh classic fun problem! how many veterans actually wanna mentor? sometimes only one or two are up for it, and that changes how you structure things. good luck man!
