long time lurker first post lol i use my PC for video editing and some gaming, mostly gaming. VIA offers different driver branches: a gaming-focused one with frequent releases and a more conservative one aimed at creators. the PM880/PN800/CN400 (Windows 2000/XP) Im on now is the gaming one. should i switch? what do i lose and gain? i would aprpeciate hearing from people who switched in either direction and why. thx in advance!!
do creative apps actually care which via driver branch i install?
ok so my main apps requirements page lists a minimum driver, and both branches meet it. sorry for the wall of text lol
+1 same here
oof broadly: gaming branches ship faster with optimizations for new releases. Studio/stalbe branches ship less often and focus on validation with creative apps. Both run games and apps fine. The difference is cadence and test focus, not capability.
