  1. Please tell me this is a driver thing. Glitches in video playback on my gaming desktop, starting right after teh ForceWare Driver udpate:

    gpu artifacts

the card isnt new but its never shown anything like this before. temperatures look normal 😂 ive tried a different cable and the artifacts are the same lol id like to know what to test before I convince myself its dead. I also do some photo work on the gaming desktop, so I really need to know whether I can trust what I see on screen right now. seriously need help here 😭

nothing is more permanent than a temporary workaround

  2. uhh do the artifacts show up in BIOS or in Safe Mode, or only in normal Windows? ?

  5. @lrossi-1kc nah thats not it, nvidia has nothing to do with it, reading this at 2am instead of sleeping, no regrets

  6. your BIOS observation is a good clue. if artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/softawre. if they show up in BIOS too, think hardware.

  7. ok so do a proper clean install of the previous driver: downlaod it from the NVIDIA support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves the problematic profiles in place. fingers crossed 🤞

  8. lol same thing happened to me check that the PCIe power cnonectors are fully seated and not melted or discolored. Power issues can produce artifacts under load.

  9. safe Mode being clean doesn't fully clear the hardware. safe Mode barely loads teh GPU, so a weak card can look fine there.

  10. @priya.pereira omggg removed the memory overclock and teh artifacts in video playback disappeared even on ForceWare Driver 91.47. the update just exposed an OC that was never stable.
