  1. I installed teh NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M/GTX 970M Graphics Driver 344.24 update last night and this morning my gaming desktop looked like this on the desktop:

    gpu artifacts

Little colored blocks, flickering lines, sometimes a whole strip of the screen goes green for a moment. It doesnt crash, it just looks horrible. My stomach dropped because artifacts usually mean dying hardware, right? But its suspicious that it started exactly after the update. How do I tell which one it is without spending money? thx in advance!!

  4. Reset any overclock or undervolt, especially memory clock. Artifacts that look like small colored blocks are often VRAM instability, and a driver update can change memory behavior enough to tip a marginal OC over.

  5. oh ive been there lol if artifacts persist after DDU and an older driver, and even appear in BIOS, back up ur data and look into warranty... dont keep stress testing a card that shows artifacts in BIOS. fingers crossed 🤞
