  1. im literally losing my mind here long-time WordPress user here, slowly losing patience, for a membership community, Im seriously considering a flat-file CMS. the pitch is faster, simpler and more secure... the worry is that every small change will end up as a request to me lmao if youve made this kind of switch, how did teh people editing content feel about it a year later?? honest stories from both sides would really help me decide. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  6. A lot of WordPress pain comes from too many plugins. A lean install with a solid theme, a handful of well-maintained plugins and automatic minor updates is far more stable than people assume.

  8. ok so for membership cmomunities, choose based on the membership features, not the CMS. Payments, access rules and email integration are the hard part, and they decide everything else.

  9. ok so wordPresss advantage is the ecosystem and the hiring pool lol five years from now, finding someone to maintain a WordPress site is easy. A custom Laravel build depends on the original developer or a team willing to learn your code.

  13. lol same thing happened to me hosted buildres are great for small businesses that want zero maintenance, but check export options. Moving away later can mean rebuilding from scratch.

  14. hmmm judge the editing experience first. If non-technical people update content weekly, the admin UI mtaters more than build speed. Have teh actual editors try both before deciding; their frustration is what ends up on your desk. lmk how it goes
