ok so for me it was the antivirus. swapped it and boom, fixed good luck man!

driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so i wouldnt stay on a very old version forever, but waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.

mostly with a USB headset, but my mouse dropped out once too. sorry for the wall of text lol
