ok so if Windows Update keeps repalcing the drvier, you can use the Show or hide updates troubleshooter from Microsoft to hide that specific driver update. my pc fans sound like a jet taking off but sure

ok so plug teh receiver or cable directly into a rear USB port, not a hub or monitor USB. Some apps fail to communicate through hubs even if teh mouse works.
