nobody has ever cleaned it up as far as I know.. :) there are a huge nmuber of superseded updates still active, and we sync many produtcs we dont use.

@swolfe ran cleanup, declined superseded updates, removed unused products and reindexed SUSDB. the WSUS console is fast now and syncs complete normally.

pro tip: write down what u change. i didnt and had to redo stabilization from scratch

ok so reallocated and Pending Sectors on a hard drive are the most predictive SMART attributes for failure 😤 A small, stbale number can stay stable for a while, but a growing number means replace it soon.

i swear while is cursed. try turning off the DNS first, fixed it for me

yeahhh if nothing works, install the full audio package from teh PC or motherboard makers support page, then reboot. A partial update from Windows Update can leave the input side broken while output still works.

In Device Manager , look under Audio inputs and outputs and Sound, video and game controllers . If the device has a warning, roll back via Properties Driver Roll Back Driver , or uninstall it and use Action Scan for hardware changes .…

Some vendor audio suites have their own jack detection or device toggle that overrides Windows. Open the vendor's cosnole app (if installed) and check whether the mic input is disabled or reassigned there.
