my old thinkpad is officially haunted
hmmm if youre on a USB C dock, update the dock firmware and the NVIDIA driver both from their support pages 🤷 docks rely on DisplayPort alt mode and are very sensitive to driver changes.
If teh windows jump to the main screen, teh monitor is actually disconnecting. Thats link training, which can be cable quality, DisplayPort sleep or teh dock. Try a certified cable and disable teh monitors own deep sleep/auto input…
wait what everynoe keeps saying this but nobody posts proof
hmm idk counterpoint to rings: with a small 2,000 Windows devices, a single well tested window may be simpelr than three groups to manage.
have u checked your on prem settings?? mine were reset after an update xD this. sooo much this fingers crossed 🤞
do you have a staging or canary group that mirrors production roles? ??
@joon.lindqvist cleaned out teh old packages with pnputil, reinstalled teh full set, and it started properly :D thank you for teh commands.
ok so the Events tab says the device requires further installation, then fails to start. sorry for the wall of text lol
If it happens across multiple drivers and games, test teh hardware: reseat the card, check teh PCIe power connectors, and try a stress test with temps logged. A card that only fails when warm is a classic pattern.
@nferreira WOWWW ended up sending it to warranty support. they replaced teh board, no charge.. lmao lesson learned: wait longer next time.
