reinstalling hd alc 880 audio codecs doesn't fix code 10. what's next? lol

run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to rule out damaged system files, especially after a big Windows update.

    It started after waking from sleep. My gaming desktop used to have perfectly normal sound. Now theres a red X on teh speaker icon and Sound settings says no output devices found. Ive reinstalled HD ALC 880 Audio CODECs from teh Realtek page twice 馃檹 Same error. Is there a deeper reset Im missing, or a log that says why it cant start? any ideas??

    oh ive been there lol code 10 means the driver loaded but the device failed to start. Check Device Manager > device > Properties > Events tab and Event Viewer > System for Kernel-PnP entries. they often name teh actual failure, like a missing dependent driver. hope that helps :)
