reinstalling hd alc 880 audio codecs doesn't fix code 10. what's next? lol

    It started after waking from sleep. My gaming desktop used to have perfectly normal sound. Now theres a red X on teh speaker icon and Sound settings says no output devices found. Ive reinstalled HD ALC 880 Audio CODECs from teh Realtek page twice 🙏 Same error. Is there a deeper reset Im missing, or a log that says why it cant start? any ideas??

    did you install chipset drivers from the PC maker, or only teh audio driver?

    oh ive been there lol code 10 means the driver loaded but the device failed to start. Check Device Manager > device > Properties > Events tab and Event Viewer > System for Kernel-PnP entries. they often name teh actual failure, like a missing dependent driver. hope that helps :)

    ehh id try a System Restore point from before a BIOS update first. its quicker than chasing dependencies.
