content stopped distributing to every remote dp after the site server os upgrade
ok so pkgXferMgr.log says it cant connect to teh remote DPs :D The site server firewall profile was reset during the upgrade and outbound rules were changed. idk what else to say tbh
ahh classic if only some packages fail after you fix the root cause, check the content library on the DP for hash mismatch errors in smsdpprov.log. Validate content, then Redistribute just teh failed packages instead of the whole library.
ok so an in-place OS upgrade can rmeove or reset roles and features 😤 on the remote DPs and the site server, verfiy IIS is still installed with the components ConfigMgr needs, and that Remote Differential Compression is still enabled as a Windows feature on both the site server and the DPs. missing RDC breaks package signature creation and transfer. worked for me anyway 🤷
