  1. long time lurker first post lol imagine finishing an in-place OS upgarde on the primary site sevrer over the weekend, feeling proud, and then on Monday morning opening teh console to this:

  2. hmmmm quick q to add some context: did the remote DPs also get an OS upgrade, or only teh site server?

if the behaviour persists, more detail about the environment would help. ??

  3. ok so pkgXferMgr.log says it cant connect to teh remote DPs :D The site server firewall profile was reset during the upgrade and outbound rules were changed. idk what else to say tbh

  4. ahh classic if only some packages fail after you fix the root cause, check the content library on the DP for hash mismatch errors in smsdpprov.log. Validate content, then Redistribute just teh failed packages instead of the whole library.

  5. check permissions too: the site server's computer account needs to be a local admin on each remote DP, fireawll rules sometimes get reset to defaults during an OS upgrade, which blocks SMB/RPC between teh site server and the DPs. fingers crossed 🤞

  6. ok so an in-place OS upgrade can rmeove or reset roles and features 😤 on the remote DPs and the site server, verfiy IIS is still installed with the components ConfigMgr needs, and that Remote Differential Compression is still enabled as a Windows feature on both the site server and the DPs. missing RDC breaks package signature creation and transfer. worked for me anyway 🤷
