Accepted solution by Felix M. — ahh classic test the card in another PC if you can. If the same artifacts follow the card, you have your answer for teh return.
  1. so annoyed rn my laptop GPU has started showing artifacts in games. colored blocks, stretched polygons, flickering lines across teh screen:

    gpu artifacts

It doesnt crash right away, but its getting more frequent. i updated the drievr yesterday and nothing changed. Is this teh beginning of the end for teh card, or is there something i can fix? Im trying to stay calm, but teh card isnt cheap to replace. If theres a way to narrow down whether its the card or something else, Id like to try it first.

  2. hmmm try a different cable and monitor. A bad cable gives sparkles and dropouts, but rarely teh structured colored blocks that VRAM faults produce. lmk how it goes

  5. lol same thing happened to me the key question is where the artifacts appear. If they show up in the BIOS or boot screen, before any driver loads, its almost certainly hardware: VRAM or the GPU itself. lmk how it goes

  6. ok so as a temporary workaround, lowering the memory clock with the vendors tuning tool can reduce VRAM-related artifacts. it doesnt fix teh card, but it can keep it usable while u sort out a replacement. fingers crossed 🤞
