Accepted solution by Omar — hmmm test the card in another PC if you can.. 👍 if the same artifacts follow the card, you have your answer for the return.
  1. my three-year-old GPU has started shoiwng artifacts on teh desktop. colored blocks, stretched polygons, flickering lines across teh screen:

    gpu artifacts

It doesnt crash right away, but its getting more frequent... i updated the driver yesterday and nothing changed. Is this the beginning of teh end for the card, or is there something i can fix?? Im trying to stay calm, but the card isnt cheap to replace. If theres a way to narrow down whether its the card or smth else, Id like to try it first.

  2. lol same thing happened to me as a temporary workaround, lowering teh memory clock with teh vendors tuning tool can reduce VRAM-related artifacts 🔥 It doesnt fix teh card, but it can keep it usbale while you sort out a replacement. good luck man!

  4. try a different cable and monitor. A bad cable gives sparlkes and dropouts, but rarely teh structured colored blocks that VRAM faults produce. lmk how it goes

  6. hmmmm not sure about that id be careful about recommending a memory underclock as a fix. It can hide a fault until the return window closes. but hey ymmv
