ok so dont download single DLLs from third-party sites. youll get a file that may be the wrong version or architecture, and at worst its malware. the redistribtuable installs teh correct, signed version system-wide. hope that helps :)

  1. ok weird one everything worked fine until on a fresh Windows install. Now a city builder and a couple of other games just throw this at me:

The code execution cannot proceed cuz MSVCP140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the game did nothing... i feel like Im missing something really basic here.

I also tried resatrting, running teh game as administrator and checking teh antivirus quarantine :/ nothing was blocked. the error message is exactly teh same every time I try.

  2. that DLL is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. install the latest Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable, both teh x64 and the x86 versions, from Microsoft's official site... many games are 64-bit but their launchers or helper tools are 32-bit. fingers crossed 馃

  5. wait what some older games actually need the 2010 or 2013 redistributables instead. if the 2015-2022 package doesnt help, check which version the games redist folder ships. just my 2 cents
