    did a clean Windows install on my business laptop and now theres no sound at all, the sepaker icon has a red X and says this:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    No audio output deivce is installed. Device Manager shows a couple of unknown devices under Other deviecs. Which driver should i be looking for?? Everything else works fine: Wi-Fi, touchpad, display. Its just the sound ;) Im guessing a single missing driver, but i dont know which one or where to get it.

    been there man on many mdoern Intel laptops, the audio needs a chain of drivers: chipset, then Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) drivers, then the codec driver (often Realtek) 😭 if teh SST layer is misisng, the codec installer says no hardware is present. lmk how it goes

    once audio works, create a restore point and consider keeping the makers audio driver from being replaced by Windows Update if it caused issues before. lmk how it goes

    been there man get the audio drivers from your laptop makers support page for ur exact model. install chipset first, then any Intel SST or audio DSP package, then the audio driver, rebooting between each. worked for me anyway 🤷

    id avoid generic Realtek packages from random sites. laptop audio often needs teh OEM-customized vesrion to make the jack and speaekrs work properly.

    @yarad701 dude the makers driver pack fixed everything in one go after a clean Windows install. speakers and headphone jack both work.
