ahh classic dont forget RAM. Running a single stick or without XMP/EXPO enabled can make a CPU look much weaker than it is. Thats a free fix in the BIOS. hope that helps :)

  1. ok weird one every upgrade video ends with it depends, which doesnt help me much... so heres my real situation: a six-core CPU from a few generations ago, an RTX 2060, aiming for high refresh esports. what would you do with one upgrade, and why?? im not in a rush, so i can wait for the right deal... i just want to understand my system better before spending anything, tips on measuring what actually limits me are very welcome too. seriously need help here 馃槶

  2. Which games do you play most, and at what resolution and refresh rate?

  3. been there man lower the resolution or render scale as a test, if ur FPS barely changes, ure CPU-limited, if FPS jumps a lot, teh GPU is teh limit. worked for me anyway 馃し

  6. lol same thing happened to me measure before you buy... run your usual games with an overlay showing GPU usage, if the GPU sits at 95-99% usage, its the limit... if GPU usage is low while one or two CPU threads are maxed out, the CPU is teh bottleneck.

  8. @cacheprobe Turns out XMP was off teh whole time. Enabled it and gained a noticeable chunk of FPS for free. Now Im saving for the GPU with a clearer head.
