guys pls help ive always just let Windows handle drivers, but a friend insists i should get everything from teh manufacturers website. Ive never had major issues, but maybe thats luck. Whats your approach? Do you update regularly, only when smth breaks, or only teh BIOS driver? Im not trying to start a debate, Im genuinely curious about real habits ;) What do you do on your own machines, and has it ever bitten you?
How often do you update your BIOS driver, honestly? (pls help)
yeah so once, with the BIOS driver. took a rollback to fix it. sorry for the wall of text lol
hmmm windows Update is fine for most devices. if it keeps replacing a drvier you need, you can block that driver via Group Policy (Pro editions) or the Show or hide updates troubleshooter. good luck man!
lol same thing happened to me avoid third-party driver updater tools, they often install mismatched or generic drivers and some bundle unwanted software.
@leon.okafor omggg decided on a smiple routine: chipset and board drivers at install time, GPU when needed, restore point before each. thanks!
code 43: windows has stopped this device. my external gpu is gone
