so annoyed rn after a audio driver update caused me a day of headaches last month, Im rethinking my whole approach. Now Im wondering if i should just stop updating anything that works. How do you decide when an update is worth it? Id like a simple rule i can follow witohut thinking too much. Does anyone have a routine thats worked well for years? what am i doing wrong??
DO YOU UPDATE DRIVERS FROM THE MANUFACTURERS WEBSITE, OR NEVER TOUCH THEM?

Jump to the replyoof windows Update is fine for most devices. if it keeps replacing a driver you need, u can block that driver via Group Policy (Pro editions) or teh Show or hide updates troubleshooter.
ok so once, with teh audio driver. took a rollback to fix it.
avoid third-party driver updater tools. they often install mismatched or generic drivers and some bundle unwanted software.
