  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts panic post. this appeared only after warming up:

    gpu artifacts

i had a mild overclock on my laptop GPU through the vendor tool, and Ive already reset it to stock. the glitches still appear sometimes. im hoping its a driver thing, but my gut says otherwise. if the overclock somehow damaged it, Id honestly like to know. at least then Id learn something for next time. is that even possible with a mild overclock? im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  2. Do the artifacts appear in the BIOS or boot screen too?

  3. lol same thing happened to me test the card in another PC if you can... if teh same artifacts follow teh card, you have your answer for the return. worked for me anyway 🤷

  5. hmmm check temperatures with HWiNFO, including memory junction or hotspot temperature if ur card reports it... artifacts that appear only after warimng up often point to VRAM overheating or failing thermal pads. lmk how it goes

  6. oh ive been there lol as a temporary workaround, lowering the memory clock with the vendors tuning tool can reduce VRAM-related artifacts. it doesnt fix the card, but it can keep it usable while you sort out a replacement. fingers crossed 🤞

  7. Rule out teh driver with DDU in Safe Mode, then install a clean driver from the GPU vendor 😤 If artifacts remain a coworker's spare room, the driver isnt the cause.

  8. @lina.larsen did u ever fix it? ??

  9. Try a different cable and monitor. A bad cable gives sparkles and dropouts, but rarely the structured colored blocks that VRAM faults produce.

The key question is where teh artifacts appear lol If they show up in the BIOS or boot screen, before any driver loads, its almost certainly hardware: VRAM or teh GPU itself.
